Decision ID: 003532

In October 2008 the 1992 Fund Executive Committee considered whether the 1992 Fund should revise its policy in respect of the interpretation of the definition of ‘ship’ in the 1992 Civil Liability and Fund Conventions in view of the fact that the Greek Supreme Court had in a judgement rendered in June 2006 in the Slops case adopted an interpretation of that definition which was at variance with the 1992 Fund policy adopted by the Assembly at its 3rd (October 1998) session. The Committee instructed the Director to examine further the 1992 Fund’s policy in this regard and submit a document for consideration by the Assembly at its October 2009 session.
