In October 2006 the Supplementary Fund Assembly noted that the 1992 Fund Assembly had decided, at its 11th (October 2006) session, to set up a group of five States to establish whether the continuance of observer status for any particular international non-governmental organisation was of mutual benefit and to report its findings later in the session. The Supplementary Fund Assembly noted that the 1992 Fund Assembly had endorsed the group’s recommendations that it should confirm the continuance of observer status of all the existing non-governmental organisations with the exception of Cristal Ltd, which had indicated that it was very close to winding up and had concluded all cases relevant to the IOPC Funds.
