In June 2007 the 1992 Fund Administrative Council approved the Technical Guidelines on the assessment of claims by those engaged in small scale or subsistence fishing, mariculture and fish processing and instructed the Secretariat to publish them as a Fund document. Noting that the Guidelines were primarily intended for experts, the Council instructed the Secretariat to develop a simplified version of the Guidelines for claimants, compatible with the experts’ version, and to present it to the Assembly for consideration at its next session.
