In October 2005 the Supplementary Fund Assembly considered a number of measures that might be taken in assisting States to submit oil reports including, inter alia, closer liaison with Member States, introducing an electronic reporting system and providing examples of reporting procedures in States that had developed efficient systems for compiling the necessary information and submitting reports. The Assembly instructed the Director to proceed with the above measures, but not with those intended to ‘shame’ States into submitting reports. The Assembly also instructed the Director to bring the matter of the non-submission of oil reports to its attention at each regular session.
