In October 2004 the 1992 Fund Assembly, in a private meeting held pursuant to Rule 12 of the Rules of Procedure attended only by representatives of Member States of the 1992 Fund and former Member States of the 1971 Fund, decided to extend the contract of the then Director of the 1992 Fund, Mr Måns Jacobsson, for a further term of office of two years, as from 1 January 2005, to include any period for a smooth transition to the next Director as the Assembly would decide. Recalling that the 1971 Fund Assembly had decided that the Director of the 1971 Fund should ex officio be the person who held the post of Director of the 1992 Fund, the 1992 Fund Assembly decided that the Director of the 1992 Fund should continue to be allowed to carry out the functions of Director of the 1971 Fund. The 1992 Fund Assembly also decided that the Director should continue to benefit from the same financial arrangements as decided by the 1971 Fund Assembly at its 17th and 19th sessions and by the 1992 Fund Assembly at its 4th session with an additional special contribution of £12 000 per annum to the Provident Fund.
