Decision ID: 002930

In October 2003 the 1971 Fund Administrative Council decided on the composition of the group of five States that would review the list of international non-governmental organisations having observer status with the Funds’ governing bodies in order to establish whether the continuance of observer status was of mutual benefit to the respective organisations and the 1971 Fund. It was noted that the group had held a meeting during the current session and had recommended that the Council should confirm the continuance of observer status of the majority of organisations, but had identified three organisations that had failed to attend many meetings since 1996 and one organisation that had not attended any meetings since1996. It was noted that the group had recommended that the Council request the Director to write to the latter group of organisations encouraging their future participation and advising them that a further review would take place in due course and that consideration would be given as to whether to withdraw observer status in the event of continued non-attendance. The Administrative Council endorsed the group’s recommendations.
