In April 2002 the 1992 Fund Assembly noted that the 1971 Fund Administrative Council had decided at its 7th (April 2002) session that it would continue to administer the 1971 Fund after 24 May 2002 (the date when the 1971 Fund Convention would cease to be in force). The 1992 Fund Assembly decided to maintain the existing arrangement whereby the 1992 and 1971 Funds had a joint Secretariat and Director.
