In October 1999 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee instructed the Director to carry out a study of the various issues relating to the liquidation of the 1971 Fund, authorised him to use outside legal and financial expertise and invited him to report to the Executive Committee at its April 2000 session on the progress of this study.
