In October 1993 the 1971 Fund Assembly considered whether to authorise the Director to settle claims up to an amount of 37.5 million (gold) francs in respect of each incident, irrespective of the total estimated cost to the 1971 Fund of satisfying all claims for compensation arising out of the incident. The Assembly decided that the issue should be considered by the (7th) intersessional Working Group in connection with its study of the procedures to be applied by the Fund in the assessment of claims.
