In October 1992 the 1971 Fund Assembly agreed that the Official Records of the 1984 Conference on Liability and Compensation for Damage in Connection with the Carriage of Certain Substances by Sea should be published and authorised the Director to offer to the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) that the 1971 Fund would pay the total cost of the publication of those parts of the Records (both English and French texts) relating to the revision of the 1969 Civil Liability and 1971 Fund Conventions. The Director was also instructed to discuss with the Secretary-General whether this publication could also include relevant documents relating to the 1992 International Conference on the Revision of the 1969 Civil Liability and 1971 Fund Conventions.
