In October 1985 the 1971 Fund Assembly decided, in view of the widely differing views of delegations, not to take any decision as regards an increase of the maximum amount of compensation payable under the 1969 Civil Liability Convention and the 1971 Fund Convention at that session, but instructed the Director to submit to the next session of the Assembly a document containing factual information relating to an increase of the maximum amount.
