In March 2006 the 1992 Fund Executive Committee instructed the Director to carry out an examination of the admissibility criteria relating to claims for costs of preventive measures, in particular for the extraction of oil from sunken vessels, with a view to enabling the 1992 Fund Assembly at its October 2006 session to discuss possible alternatives for the existing criteria for admissibility within the framework of the 1992 Conventions.
