In October 2001 the 1971 Fund Administrative Council noted that since the 1971 Fund Convention would cease to be in force on 24 May 2002 there would no longer be any 1971 Fund Member States. For this reason the Council considered it unnecessary to convene the 1971 Fund Assembly for sessions after that date and that any business should be dealt with directly by the Administrative Council.
