In October 2000 the 1971 Fund Administrative Council, noting that the Appeal Court judgement in respect of the claims by the Yosu Fishery Co-operative would shortly be rendered, renewed its instructions to the Director that he should if necessary pursue appeals to the Supreme Court in respect of issues of principle, namely as regards compensation for pain and suffering and compensation to fishermen operating without having fulfilled the licensing requirements.
