In April 1999 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee considered a request from the United Kingdom delegation to authorise the Director to make payments or partial payments to those claimants whose claims had been approved but not paid as soon as the total amount of claims was known. The Committee agreed that the issue of partial payments should be considered as soon as there was clarity as to the total amount of the claims.
