Decision ID: 000680

In October 1996 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee considered a claim for economic loss resulting from a reduction in membership of an angling club that conducted its activities in a river that was covered by a government-imposed ban on the catching of migratory fish due to the pollution. The Committee took the view that the losses suffered by the angling club should be considered as damage caused by contamination and decided, therefore, that the claim was admissible in principle.
