Decision ID: 000663
In October 1996 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee, noting that the Director had estimated that the total amount of the claims might reach the maximum amount of compensation available under the Conventions, decided in view of the uncertainty as regards the total amount of the claims,to maintain the position taken at its 47th session, namely that the Fund’s payments should for the time being be limited to 25% of the established damage suffered by each claimant and that the payments should be increased from 25% to 50% of the established damage subject to confirmation of a significant reduction in the total amount of the fishery related claims.
