In March 1993 the 1971 Fund Executive Committe decided that claims for loss of income by fishermen resulting from contamination of the area of the sea where they normally carried out fishing were admissible in principle, although each claimant would have to show that he was prevented from fishing as a result of the incident and prove the quantum of the loss.
