In October 1989 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee endorsed the Director’s rejection of parts of a claim submitted by four fishery co-operative associations relating to the costs of creating a crab protection area, since its purpose was not to prevent pollution damage but to prevent physical damage to fishing nets.
