In September 1983 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee accepted the method of calculation submitted by the Director for the distribution of the compensation available under the 1971 Fund Convention and left it to the Director to calculate the exact amount of compensation payable in the light of the claims that had been agreed at the time of the distribution and to determine the reserve needed to pay claims not finally agreed at the time of distribution.
