In October 2004 the 1971 Fund Administrative Council considered that there was no further advantage to the 1971 Fund in the Advisory Committee on the Protection of the Sea (ACOPS) continuing to have observer status and decided to withdraw it, but decided to reconsider the matter at its next session.
