In October 2001 the 1992 Fund Assembly noted that in February 2001 the External Auditor had raised again the issue of the establishment of a special body to deal with audit matters. The Assembly decided, subject to the agreement of the 1971 Fund Administrative Council, to create a joint Audit Body for the 1992 Fund and the 1971 Fund. The Assembly decided to postpone to its next session consideration of the composition and mandate of the Audit Body. It was agreed that the Executive Committee should hold a preliminary discussion of this issue, provided that any decision would be taken by the Assembly.
