In October 1999 the 1992 Fund Assembly decided that the costs of running the joint Secretariat for 2000 should be shared 50:50 with the 1971 Fund, with the proviso that this distribution would not apply to certain items in respect of which it was possible to make a distribution based on the actual costs incurred by each Organisation as set out in the explanatory notes to their respective draft budgets for 2000. It was noted that the 1971 Fund Executive Committee, acting on behalf of the 1971 Fund Assembly, had agreed at its 62nd session to the same distribution.
