In October 1998 the 1992 Fund Assembly decided that the costs of running the joint Secretariat for 1999 should be shared on a 50:50 basis with the 1971 Fund, with the proviso that this distribution would not apply to certain items in respect of which it was possible to make a distribution based on the actual costs incurred by each Organisation as set out in the explanatory notes to their respective draft Budgets for 1999. It was noted that the 1971 Fund Executive Committee had agreed at its 59th session to the same distribution.
