In May 1998 the 1971 Fund Assembly noted that the Chairman had decided to resign from office at the end of the 4th extraordinary session as a consequence of the State that he represented no longer being a Member of the 1971 Fund after 15 May 1998. The Assembly elected Mr J Vonau (Poland) as Chairman of the Assembly as from the end of the current session until its next regular session.
