In October 1996 the 1992 Fund Assembly noted that the 1971 Fund Assembly had at its 19th (October 1996) session, in the context of the question as to whether there was a need for an Audit Committee, decided to establish an open consultation group to review the system of financial control of the 1971 Fund and to make proposals, if appropriate, for improvements in the system. The 1992 Fund Assembly decided that it was premature for it to consider the establishment of an Audit Committee for the 1992 Fund.
