In October 1993 the 1971 Fund Assembly decided that it would be appropriate to set up a body composed of external experts with special knowledge in investments to advise the Director on investment matters, and instructed him to examine the feasibility of establishing an Investment Advisory Body composed of such experts, to assess the cost implications, to consider the precise mandate of the Body, and submit a report to the Assembly at its 17th session.
