In April 2000 the 1992 Fund Executive Committee, noting that the French Ministry of Tourism was carrying out a campaign to counteract the negative impact of the incident on tourism in the affected area, consisting mainly of press/television advertising and mail marketing, reiterated the need for co-ordination of any publicity campaigns.
