In April 1998 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee instructed the Director to make all efforts to obtain further information as to the cause of the incident and to co-operate with the shipowner and the insurer, bearing in mind the possibility of a conflcit of interest between the shipowner/insurer and the 1971 Fund.
