In February 1996 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee agreed with the Director that a part of a claim relating to the replacement of sand on certain recreational beaches was not admissible since a programme for replacement of sand on these beaches, which suffered from erosion, had been established by the Government before the Aegean Sea incident and the replacement had started before the incident.
