In May 2002 the 1971 Fund Administrative Council noted that as a consequence of having agreed the limitation amount applicable to the Sea Prince and having settled all outstanding disputed claims in the limitation proceedings, the shipowner/insurer and the 1971 Fund had requested the Court to render the limitation proceedings void with effect from the commencement of the proceedings and that the proceedings had been discontinued in January 2002.
