In October 2001 the 1971 Fund Administrative Council noted that the 1971 Fund’s exposure stood at some £119 million compared with a total amount of compensation available under the 1969 Civil Liability Convention and the 1971 Fund Convention of £52.4 million. In view of this situation the Council considered that its decision taken at its 5th session on the level of payments should be maintained.
