In April 2000 the 1971 Fund Administrative Council noted that in March the United KIngdom Government had informed the Director that it would not pursue its claim for £3.6 million. It was also noted that the shipowner’s insurer had informed the Director that it would not pursue its claim for £1.7 million relating to salvage operations.
