In October 1999 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee instructed the Director to explore with the Korean Government whether the Regional Government Compensation Commission could postpone its consideration of the 1971 Fund’s claim for recovery against the Government in order to allow the Committee further time for consideration of the important issues at stake. The Committee instructed the Director to pursue the Fund’s claim against the Korean Government if the Compensation Commission were not to agree to a postponement.
