In December 1995 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee reconsidered a claim by the Shetland Fish Producers Organisation for alleged loss of fishing quotas. The Committee, whilst noting that the administrative system governing the quota allocation could not be changed to reflect the the effect of the incident, took the view that the losses were not due to the contamination and decided to reject the claim.
