In April 1997 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee, noting that the master of the Sea Prince had been given a prison sentence as a result of the incident, and notwithstanding the Committee’s previous decision at its 50th session, instructed the Director to invetigate further the possibility of the Fund taking recourse action against any third party.
