In October 1996 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee decided that in view of the remaining uncertainty in respect of the level of admissible claims in the tourism sector and to a lesser extent in the fishery sector, the Fund’s level of payments should remain limited to 75% of the damage suffered by respective claimants on the basis of the assessment of the Fund’s experts at the time when the payment was made.
