In October 1996 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee, in response to a statement by the Government of Fujairah that the Fund had refused to be a party to a global settlement, emphasised that the Fund had not been able to agree to settlements in respect of a number of claims due to the fact that the claimants had not submitted evidence to substantiate their losses.
