In June 1996 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee, noting that on the basis of the investigation by the local Marine Enquiry Agency there was no indication that the ship did not comply with the requirements laid down in Article 5.3 of the 1971 Fund Convention, decided that the Fund should not be relieved of its obligation to indemnify the shipowner.
