In June 1996 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee, noting that the incident had been caused by a navigational error on the part of the master of the Sea Prince combined with the unusual movement of the typhoon that had contributed to the incident, decided therefore not to challenge the shipowner’s right to limit liability.
