In February 1996 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee instructed the Director to pay in full a number of claims presented in France, which was conditional on the protection of the Fund against an overpayment situation by means of an undertaking by the French Government to provide as security the amount payable by the Fund to the French State for the State’s accepted claim.
