In February 1994 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee agreed with the Director that claims from businesses (in particular fish processors) for loss of profit caused by cancelled or reduced orders from specific customers should not be accepted on the grounds that the criteria for the assessment of compensation should be whether a claimant’s business as a whole had suffered losses as a result of the incident.
