Decisión nº: 000281

In October 1993 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee decided that a claim by the Region of Liguria for the cost of promoting tourism, including an item relating to damage to the touristic image, which was not quantified, should be rejected, since the Region had not allocated any extra funds, but had used funds already allocated for tourism promotion and had therefore not suffered any actual economic loss, and since damage to touristic image could not be quantified in economic terms. The Committee also rejected claims by the Municipality of Diano Marina and the Provine of Savona, the former because the expense claimed was not linked to the incident and the latter because the activities covered by the claim had not contributed to countering the negative effects on tourism resulting from the incident.
