Decisión nº: 000258

In June 1993 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee, in view of its earlier decision that claims relating to pure economic loss suffered by owners of certain shops and restaurants as a result of the Haven incident were admissible in principle, endorsed the Director’s proposal that a claim by the owner of a fish shop, the operator of a shop selling windsurfing equipment and fishing gear and the operator of a beach shop, cafe and bar at a beach lightly polluted by oil from the Aegean Sea should in principle qualify for compensation to the extent that it was established that the losses were caused by the incident, and authorised the Director to make final settlements of these claims.
