In October 2001 the 1971 Fund Administrative Council noted that the 1992 Fund Assembly had at its 6th (October 2001) session decided to maintain the existing arrangement whereby the 1992 and 1971 Funds had a joint Secretariat and Director. The Council agreed that the arrangement should be maintained. As regards the question of whether to appoint an eminent person outside the 1971 Fund to oversee the winding up of the Fund, the Council postponed further consideration of this issue to a later session.
