In October 2005 the 1971 Fund Administrative Council elected Captain R Malik (Malaysia) as Chairman. Captain Malik informed the Council of his intention to stand down as Chairman at the end of the session. At the end of the session the Administrative Council elected Mrs Teresa Martins de Oliveira (Portugal) as it Chairman and Mr John Gillies (Australia) as its Vice-Chairman.
