In October 1993 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee decided that the losses suffered by an operator of a passenger ferry as result of the suspension of the service caused by the Aegean Sea incident and a reduction in the number of passengers carried during the period thereafter should be considered as damage caused by contamination and that the claim for the losses should be accepted in principle.
