In May 1992 the 1971 Fund Executive Committee instructed the Director to continue to follow the investigations into the cause of the incident and to submit to the Committee at a later session proposals as to whether the Fund should pursue legal actionto break the shipowner’s right of limitation or take legal action against other parties for the purpose of recovering the amount which the Fund may have to pay in compensation.
