In October 1988 the 1971 Fund Assembly decided not to include the 1987 amendments to MARPOL 73/78, the April 1988 amendments to SOLAS 74 and the 1987 amendments to COLREG 72 in the list of instruments contained in Article 5.3 of the 1971 Fund Convention because it considered that these amendments were not of major importance for the purpose of Article 5 of the Convention.
