In April 1997 the 1992 Fund Assembly, noting that the 1971 Fund Executive Committee, at its 52nd (February 1997) session, had authorised the Director to make final settlement of all claims arising out of the incident, decided to authorise the Director to make final settlements on behalf of the 1992 Fund of all claims arising out of the incident, to the extent that the claims did not give rise to questions of principle that had not previously been decided by the Assembly.
